Well, I myself am a big fan of listening to podcasts (It makes me feel like there's someone in the room talking to me while I work), I especially am also partial to stories of the sci-fi, fantasy and pulpy variety. I've got three favorites so far; The Thrilling Adventure Hour, The Drabble Cast, and Deadmech. All are good and I suggest when you folks get a chance to swing around and give them all a good listen.
So, in doing my research I have come to three interesting conclusions, one of which disappoint me;
1) Solenopsis invicta aka the Red Fire Ant us a terrible little creature that wrecks the natural order of things like a muscular man covered in honey and angry ants drunkenly smashing all the pots in a nice pottery store called "All of Southern USA."
2) One of S. invicta's natural enemies is a type of parasatiod fly that oviposits eggs Alien style into the back of S. invicta's heads. What happens next is the larva from said fly will proceed to burrow and eat the insides until the head of the ant falls off the body from the weight of the now bulbous maggot that has gorged itself on succulent ant meat.
3) My proffessor will not allow me to write a paper on how to weaponize Solenopsis invicta.
